When I was about 17, I was introduced to a longstanding Southern tradition - the bridal portrait. We attended my cousin's wedding, and there in the lobby of the reception venue was a large photo of my cousin, looking tall and statuesque and perfect in her wedding gown. A few years later, I was again visiting and there was that portrait, this time hanging in my uncle's house. I think we Northerners should adopt the bridal portrait as our own tradition - they are a beautiful keepsake long after the wedding is over.
This session by Schilling Photography reminds me of that wonderful Southern tradition - but instead of a studio backdrop, it is the beautiful Chicago shoreline. Photos by Schilling Photography, florals by Splendor of Eden, gowns from Alice in Ivory, shoes from BHLDN, hair & makeup by Goldplaited, blue velvet chair from Something Old Event Rentals, model is Katlyn Lee.
